Unitarianism, considered a classic liberal religion, is growing in Africa more by word-of-mouth and Internet presence than by missionaries. The church’s American leadership may also be surprised by the social conservatism of its newest converts, opposing abortion and gay rights, in a continent more known for its burgeoning Pentecostal presence.
